Devonshire is working with one of the UK’s fastest growing companies to assist in the search for a Senior MySQL DBA/Developer to join the award winning technical team.

My client has been growing continuously over the last few years, they are now market leaders within the industry, are globally recognised for what they have achieved and firmly believe they wouldn’t be where they are now without the talented employees who remain at the forefront of technical innovation keeping them one step ahead at all times.

Although the title is "Senior MySQL DBA"; they are not just looking for a DBA who can install, maintain and performance tune the existing MySQL databases..............They are looking for a forward thinker, OpenSource Technologist who can implement and architect new robust scalable solutions whilst looking ahead into other ways of improving their existing database solutions.

They would love to hear from highly skilled MySQL DBA’s who want to ownership of the database infrastructure from day one, someone who wants to work closely with the Developers and Systems Administrators to grow their knowledge on a new breed of columnar and hash key storage technologies.

Your skill set

• Extensive MySQL/PostgreSQL experience (Maintenance, Optimisation, data-extraction, performance tuning, design, development and installation)
• Strong scripting skills
• Strong Linux/Unix command line knowledge
• Good understanding of Data Warehouses
• Proven experience of delivering robust scalable database solutions

In addition; if you have had any knowledge or exposure to columnar based databases such as Vertica/ infobright, or if you have experience of using hash key storage databases like Riak/ Cassandra…….we should speak as soon as possible. Opportunities in this area are few and far between..

Devonshire is working with one of the UK’s most recognised Drupal employers. They are looking for one more Drupal Developer to join them before the end of 2010.

You will work on a project driven basis covering all aspects of the design/development lifecycle with the chance to take ideas from concept to launch in weeks rather than months.

Skills summary

• Strong OOP background in PHP5
• 2+ years commercial experience with Drupal v6+ - including site builds, migrations and custom module development
• MySQL/SQL
• Frontend - HTML, CSS and JavaScript (Prototype/JQuery)
• SVN/Git for source code management
