• 2/3 years Ruby/Ruby on Rails commercial experience
• Exposure to C/C++.
• MySQL/SQL including writing complex quires and DBA/Optimization
• Experience in scaling up web applications quickly (memcache)
• Be familiar with Agile (TDD) environments using RSpec/Cucumber
• Be comfortable working on a Mac day to day and Linux/Unix platforms for deployment.
• Knowledge of integration 3rd Party API’s, Amazon Web services and Cloud Computing
• Any exposure to Erlang/RabbitMQ would be brilliant!
• You will be a keen team player, flexible and up for a challenge.

Senior Ruby on Rails Developer x 2 | Berkshire |E-commerce sector| Salary: £45,000/£50,000
Our Berkshire based e-commerce client has been attracting some of the best UK and European Rails talent since 2007. They are exceeding revenue targets on a monthly basis which has helped them grow organically and emerge as one of the UK’s largest Ruby on Rails employers.
As they continue to expand the business across the globe they are actively seeking Senior Software Engineers with Ruby knowledge to work on a number of complex applications at the companies HQ in Berkshire.
Although the Ruby team is 15+; you will work in an elite pocket team to deliver a number of key enhancements to the companies’ core product, improve the infrastructure ensuring the high availability of there transactional systems and design/implement the improvements of the complex web applications so they can scale effectively and efficiently.
This position would suit someone who has already had experience in building development environments/platforms for high availability, high transactional e-commerce sites who wants to get stuck into a fresh challenge. They have a solid management team, a number of technical Ruby Gurus and a fantastic open plan office with real creative flair!
Skills needed
• 18/24 months Ruby/Ruby on Rails commercial experience
• Exdperience in using Java, Scala, or C to build high availability infrastructure.
• Exposure to cloud computing/Functional Programming
• Experience in scaling up complex web apps using memcache
• Solid understanding of MySQL/SQL database including
• Be used to working on a Mac day to day to deploy on the Linux/Unix platform.
