Senior/Lead Ruby on Rails Developer | £55,000 - £60,000 + PLC Benefits + | London

Due to rapid UK growth, my industry leading client is actively seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join the development team's London office.

Reporting directly to the Head of Development you will be responsible for leading the development, strategic planning and maintenance of a number of high profile web tools/ applications for internal business use.

Key accountabilities

• Driving the design/development of web based products & tools
• Supporting existing applications.
• Mentor less experienced Ruby on Rails Developers
• Accurately assess project risk associated with development activities
• Architect business critical systems based on input from business stakeholders
• Manage multiple priorities, follow sprint/project plans and meet commitments

Your knowledge, skills and experience

• A very strong Ruby on Rails programming background.
• In-depth OOD/OOP knowledge
• Knowledge of Java, Perl or C++.
• Excellent knowledge of designing, building and deploying business applications for internal business use.
• A thorough understanding of Object Oriented Analysis & Design principles.
• Extensive experience in leading Agile/SCRUM teams.
• Good understanding of MySQL/SQL database
• Unix/Linux command line exposure
